Will the rear wheel slip? Where will the front go? Where can I put my boots in this rock garden? Are the footpegs clear? Foot placement is critical with hard enduro training. Now lets scale it back to stuff I am willing to ride. We are coming up to a rock face that is quite steep and with very little run up. My first ever time, I took the chicken track. I'm keen to try riding straight up it. This is Johnno uphead. Apparently he's only been riding for two years. And doing the technical riding only for the past year. He is doing ridiculously well for relatively little experience. My turn. It's always important to maximise your run up for steep faces like this. I get the bike back into the bushes as far as possible. Woohoo, made it. This angle gives you some idea of how steep it is. Man I feel clumsy through here. Occasionally there's a tree root or big stick in the mud and suddenly there's no traction and you go nowhere fast. Okay the next tough bit. The first time I chickened out and the guys pulled me through. The second time I gunned it but fell to the right. No way and I trying the next bit. A steep uphill, then jumping over a big log.
