Description: #3Dprinting #3Dprinters #KevinCaronArt From kevincaron.com - Artist Kevin Caron shows an easy way to neatly get rid of the "strings" created when 3D printing .... Kevin Caron is about to clean up a 3D-printed sculpture he just finished printing on his 8-foot-tall Cerberus 3D Gigante 3D printer. The sculpture has some thin strings that go across where the 3D-printer print head was hopping from one side to the other as it was building the sculpture, so he wants to use his heat gun to get rid of them. In case you don't know about heat guns, Kevin Caron shows his heat gun, which is from Drill Master (this is not a paid endorsement). It has 2 different settings on its toggle switch. Center is off, 1 way is high heat, the other is low heat. Low heat works perfectly on PLA filament. Kevin Caron runs the heat over the sculpture, and it takes just moments to remove the strings. He just has to give it a little "bath." Maybe you can see the little strings just shrivel up and disappear. Just that quick, it's done. Now Kevin Caron can go put the sculpture on its pedestal and get it glued in place. Now you have time to see more of his amazing sculpture at kevincaron.com . Well, you might want to wait a moment to see him get pointers - or is it give them .... Artist Kevin Caron has been sculpting full time since 2006.
