Description: For many people learning American English, pronouncing the words "can" versus "can't" is tricky. Although these words are different by only 1 letter, they are complete opposites of each other, meaning that being understood in which word you are saying is so important! "can" has a lot more of a relaxed feel, while "can't" really stresses the /a/ sound and has the sharp /t/ on the end. During this video, I work with one of the students in my program to really master the difference between these 2 words. As you watch this video, practice along with me and my student. You'll be surprised by how fast you can improve your pronunciation just by following along and trying it out yourself! What words have you noticed that sound similar but mean completely different things?
