Description: This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to knit The Weaves and Ribs Hat using a round loom. This hat is made of a double ribbed brim and a special basket weave pattern for the body part. In this tutorial you will learn: - How to start your hat (how to cast on stitches on the loom) - How to knit an elastic brim (how to work e-wrap knit stitches and purl stitches) - How to wrap two stitches together - How to work a special pattern every 4 stitches and every 3 rounds - How to take your work out of the loom and close the hat (how to bind off) Index of Contents: [00:00] - Introduction [00:43] - Casting on [02:34] - Knitting brim's Round 1 [05:10] - Repeating Round 1 [05.48] - Knitting body's Round A [06:51] - Knitting body's Round B [10:27] - Knitting body's Round C [11:28] - Repeating Rounds A, B & C [13:15] - Binding off [15:35] - Weaving in The downloadable PDF pattern of this project is available here: ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-weaves--ribs-hat LOOM: The loom I use in this project is a 41-peg XL gauge round loom, because I wanted to make an adult-size hat. The pattern is suitable for a loom with a number of pegs multiple of 4. Since I used a loom with a number of pegs multiple of 4 + 1, you'll see I have an extra peg at the end of every round (it doesn't matter). If you want to make a preemie or newborn hat, I suggest you to use the 24-peg round loom. If you want to make a child/teenager hat, then you better use the 36-peg loom. YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #6). If your thread is thinner than mine (a medium weight yarn), I recommend you to use 2 strands at the same time. For this project, I used 100g (3.5Oz) approx. of a yarn called Katia Canada.
