Description: A good beginner knitted cables technique is the 2 over 2, right cable, or back cable. To get started get your yarn, knitting needles and a Cable Needle (CN) and Lee Meredith will guide you through this knitting skill. The steps for these 2-over-2 cables also apply to any numbers of stitches. For Right Cables, the first set of stitches goes in back, the second set in front, so the four stitches will twist with the second 2 going to the right up over the first 2. Slip the first set of stitches (back stitches) to the cable needle, and let the needle drop to the back. Knit the next set of stitches (front stitches) from the knitting needle. Pick up the cable needle, and hold it up to knit the stitches from it. Work across the (back) stitches from the cable needle. The stitches have flipped places; the second stitches now in front to the right, the first stitches twisted in back to the left. On the next row, work across those stitches normally.
