Description: In this video I go over the steps from start to finish of how to glitter a geode tumbler. Here is the breakdown: - Tape off bottom - Paint Base Color on Cup - Apply glitter in each geode one ring at a time, letting dry between rings and brushing off excess. - Seal entire cup once done. - Epoxy a THIN layer over the whole cup and sprinkle the white in the non-geode areas and just into each outer geode ring. - Let cure at least 6 hours - Epoxy and let spin at least 6 hours. - Apply an additional coat of epoxy if necessary to get it smooth. - Wet sand any bumpy or pokey spots. - Clean cup - Apply decal - Epoxy final coat Standard notes: - I pull tape immediately after applying final glitter layer. - I wait 24 hours before applying epoxy to mod podge to make sure it's completely dry. If you apply it too soon it'll turn the epoxy cloudy. - After epoxy I wait at least 12 hours before applying decal. If you do it too soon the transfer tape will stick to the epoxy. - I generally use oracal 651 vinyl and transfer rite transfer tape. - I am currently using FX Premium epoxy.
