Description: BECOME A PATRON: patreon.com/joshfossgreen If you’ve ever watched a bass lesson video or taken a private lesson, you’ve probably been told to “start slow and work up your speed with a metronome” at some point. In this lesson I’ll try to demonstrate how I actually do that personally on-camera, to take some of the mystery out the process. Working up speed is a nuanced process, and the “best” way to do it depends a lot on the material and your experience level. There’s no set method you must use, or rate at which you must progress. The main organizing principles I use are to establish a (slow) baseline tempo where I can play whatever I’m working on really well, and then creep up from there, trying to find the right amount of difficulty where it’s not too easy, but I’m not constantly struggling and failing. I hope this little window into my practicing helps you with yours! And LOL ignore the title screen, I didn't change the text from the last lesson!
