This will allow you to confident know how much RAM Minecraft is using and how to see if you have actually allocated more RAM to Minecraft. Truthfully, this is an incredibly simple tutorial, so let’s jump right on into it! The first way to see how much RAM is allocated to Minecraft is from the Minecraft Launcher. This means you can find the amount of RAM dedicated to Minecraft without even opening up Minecraft. Do this by opening the Minecraft launcher and clicking ‘Installations’. Then, hover over the installation you want to see the RAM for. Click on the three dots and click ‘edit’. Then, scroll down on the window that appears and click ‘More Options’. Finally, you will see a JVM-arguments section. At the beginning of this string, you will see ‘-Xmx’ There will be a number next to this like ‘2G’ for example. This means that Minecraft has 2GB of RAM dedicated to it. You can change your RAM number by changing the number here. If it is 2000M or 2000MB though, that is megabytes. This is perfectly okay. It can be either way. Now there is one more way to see how much RAM is allocated to Minecraft, and that is in Minecraft itself. So, open up Minecraft, and join into either a single player world or a server. It will work on either. Then, once you are in-game, simple press F3 on your keyboard. If you have a laptop or no ‘F’ keys, you may have to press the FN (function) key and F3. Then, in the top right of Minecraft is Minecraft’s RAM. You will see how much RAM is dedicated to Minecraft, but also how much RAM Minecraft is using in real time. This is, in my opinion, the best way to see Minecraft’s RAM as you can see how much RAM Minecraft is using as well. And there you have it! That is how to find the amount of RAM allocated to Minecraft. If you have any questions about how to see the amount of RAM Minecraft has, let us know in the comments.
