Description: Welcome back to another episode of 'Shoe Care Academy'! With a $1,900 shoe on the line, we had to call in the big guns - Sir. Jonny Bubbles and the RESHOEVN8R Signature Kit to clean up these Trashed Travis Scott Air Max 1's. First thing's first, remove those laces and insert the adjustable shoe tree. Inserting the shoe tree is a vital step in the shoe cleaning process as it allows you to put added pressure on the toe box during the cleaning, while also keeping the shape in tact! Two squirts of solution into the bowl of water and it was time to get bubbly! First up, the soft bristle brush! Making sure the sneaker was coated with the water & solution mixture evenly, Jonny gave the uppers a quick but thorough pass. There’s no guarantees, but making sure the shoe is evenly saturated, not overly saturated, can help prevent color fading and bleeding. Suede and nubuck will also appear darker when wet, so it’s important to let the shoe fully dry to determine if additional cleaning is necessary, or to see if water spots have formed. After hitting the midsoles with the medium bristle brush, and the outsoles with the stiff bristle brush, it was time for the patented laundry bag. Typically we’d never recommend putting a shoe this expensive, or one that contains suede/nubuck, in the washing machine, but when a shoe is in this bad of shape there is no alternative. The patented laundry bag will keep your kicks safe and act as an agitator, giving the shoes an additional scrub. For this specific shoe, the laundry system works wonders at flushing out the dirt trapped in mesh. With the bowl of water and solution being too dirty, Jonny inserted the laces in the laundry bag pouch with one laundry pod. After a spin in cold water, the shoe was looking great, but after drying for 24 hours there were a few visible water spots. Mink oil to the rescue! After resetting the texture of the suede with a dry medium bristle brush, Jonny sprayed the uppers with a few coats of Mink Oil, massaging the oil into the shoe with a horse hair brush (coming soon?). Overall the shoe looks great, but would you spend $1,900 on this drop? Let us know in the comments. As always, THANKS for watching! DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE!!!
