Description: Sign Up for your FREE trial to Wondrium here: ow.ly/N27r30scebJ In the 1950s, New Jersey's population was bursting at the seams. The only way to accommodate the increasing number of people was to build more roads. And what better way than with a new multi-lane highway? This project would come to be known as the New Jersey Turnpike and would forever change how Americans traveled. The New Jersey Turnpike is one of America's most iconic highways, and has shaped the landscape and culture of the Northeast since it first opened in 1951. Join me as I explore the history of the NJTP and how it became one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in our country.
