Description: Navratri is round the corner and to break the monotony of having the same kind of fasting food, homechefs and restaurants are coming up with different menu ideas with the quintessential ingredients. While some are sticking to the traditional spheres and serving the same traditional fares, others are giving a contemporary twist to the former. They are presenting a novel and out of the box menu with the same set of vrat ke ingredients. In today's episode we are introducing you to two such passionate home chefs who are striving hard to serve you the festive flavours with interesting variations. The first place that we are visiting is A's kitchen started and run by Anjali Wadhwa. She offers a wide range of traditional veg dishes and today she is serving a Navratri special thali. After sharing the details of her endeavour she led us to the kitchen to show us what all dishes were underway. Some of the dishes had already been prepared and some were to be done. Vrat ke dishes are quite simple compared to the other kinds of feast items. But the tricky part is to attain the taste with the limited set of ingredients. The spread included barnyard millet, shahi paneer, buckwheat flour puri pumpkin halwa, dahi vada, mooli ka cheela etc. The colourful thali was indeed scrumptious. The next stop in this quest is Yashita's kitchen. The special thing about her Navratri thali is that some of the classic dishes have been given a contemporary twist. So instead of a plain sabudana vada she is serving beetroot stuffed sabudana cutlet. Similarly there is chia seeds kheer, mango paneer salad, zucchini fritters and many more. Her sheer creativity in conjuring up so many novel flavours from the same set of ingredients is highly commendable. The spread was colourful, vibrant and soul satisfying.
