Description: Just when I thought I was riding a long sunny streak, I was a mess on fathers day which brought on a downward spiral for the next two weeks. Perhaps it was the full moon or just me being extra hormonal, I didn’t take that day well. I realise more and more that as happy holidays are made to be, it can be a tough time for many people for so many reasons. I got fed up moping and I took my frustration out on the walls of my house and found peace again through DIY. I'm also thankful for the quick chat I had with my neighbour where I asked him when does co parenting get easier. He reminded me that holidays can also be just another day of the year. Most of all, what's important is that the children have two parents who love them very very much. Sometimes I get so clouded with my emotions that all I can focus is what the kids are missing out rather than all the love they do have around them. Thank you so much for the reminder, Dave. I cherish the relationship I have with my own father. I understand like a lot of asian households, he may not be the affectionate type but the love is always there. I needed affection as a child and probably why I badly wanted a warm affectionate family of my own one day. Now I realise no family is supposed to be the same. They come in all different shapes and sizes. I am thankful for the family I come from. Love may not always be spoken but it is expressed through our favourite meals.
