Although most would think of doing a Beach Boys cover on the beach, these Nordic girls get our “good vibrations” from a different type of scenery and environment. ;) ;) So, we chose to film this video at 8,000 feet elevation in the mountains of Utah! This song was a HUGE challenge to arrange for, and play, on just two harps! There are so many key changes, accidentals, rhythm and tempo changes, and different “feelings” to this iconic song. If you watch carefully you will see (and hear) a ton of pedal changes throughout the piece. Each string can be 3 different pitches on our pedal harps. We move the pedals to change the pitch of the strings (flat to natural, natural to sharp, etc). We can set the pedal harps to any key, but we have to change the pedals in order to have accidentals. So we often are changing pedals while we are playing. Everything you hear in our arrangement is exactly how we can perform it live with our 2 harps (and a shaker): no backing tracks, loops or overlays.
