Description: Last night I got to go see the new Ghostbusters movie in 3D at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood on opening night! Thank you to IMAX and my friend Kevin Winston for the free tickets! We also got to watch a Q&A with the director, Paul Feig, which you can watch in full here: youtube.com/watch?v=FQLvkgtpoBA Review: I really enjoyed it. I left feeling very happy and enthusiastic about what they accomplished with the film. In my opinion, the new Ghostbusters is its own film, with lots of references to the original (and the cartoon series!), and the end result is a fun movie that's a great family summer blockbuster. My favorite character was Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon) because I found her the most interesting person to watch in every scene. I did think the relationship between Melissa McCarthy's and Kristen Wiig's characters was a little weak, but that could've been because of how strong the other relationships and characters were in comparison. I enjoyed Chris Hemsworth's character a lot; even though he was a bit one-note, he did his role very well, and I learned later in the Q&A afterward with Paul Feig that Chris improvised most of his scenes, which led me to appreciate his performance even more.
