Description: "To use this video in a commercial player, advertising, or in broadcasts, please email Brave Bison at licensing@bravebison.io ***Read The Description*** I wasn't planning on Part 2 until I saw what the gecko was up to the next morning. This is the full version showing the gecko nearly wiping out the entire nest. You see several failed attempts by the gecko but it wasn't to be denied. I noticed it grabbed one of them so I got it swallowing the wasp. Then I captured more videos of it crawling on the nest and pulling developing wasps from its narrow pods. As it did this 3 of the remaining wasps would attempt to scare the gecko off but it always returned. The wasps must taste good. Eventually, ants came in for the final cleanup but even many of them fell prey to the gecko. Once the ants complete the destruction of the nest you see the gecko go in for one last look and one of the wasps chases it away. By the next day, the two remaining wasps were nowhere to be seen. I believe these are Paper wasps. I didn't have to go far for these clips but it took weeks to capture. It's on my lanai right outside my desk window. I have a small mirror set up so I can see the gecko approach the nest while working at my desk. The gecko made numerous attempts only to be driven away by the most aggressive wasp. This small nest has been on my lanai for over a year now. We coexist quite well. They never bother me. The nest hasn't grown any larger than it was a year ago and now I know one of the reasons why. You hear what I was hearing. It's an urban setting with construction noise nearby. You'd think I lived in NY City. Screaming kids, etc... I used the Panasonic GH5 and the Leica 100-400mm lens. 4k 60fps. The audio is directly from the camera's built-in mic. Oct 2021. Thanks for subscribing.
