Description: What is free speech? How do we define it and where do we draw the line between free speech and censorship? Join us this Thursday, February 24 at 2 PM EST on Learn Liberty's YouTube and social media channels to discuss these questions with Nazlıcan Kanmaz and Eric Daniels. Nazlıcan and Eric will be discussing the philosophical arguments for free speech and how it has been used throughout American history, its justifications, and the nature of individual rights and government. Eric Daniels holds a Ph.D. in American history from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has taught history, political science, and economics at Duke University, Georgetown University, and is currently the Assistant Director of the Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism at Clemson University. He is a contributing writer for The Objective Standard magazine and he has published articles and book chapters on the history of monopolies, American individualism, and economic freedom.
