Description: A number of tech reviewers will categorically tell you that folding phones are the future. But are they really? After buying a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, I was pretty stoked to play around with my first folding phone. But after the honeymoon period wore off, I was left with the question of why anyone would spend $1000+ on a folding phone, when they can get a more reliable flagship device for the same price, or even less. Does foldable phone technology have a bright future? I personally think that folding phones can have a future, but not necessarily in any iPhone-esque way. I don’t think it’s very likely that they'll render the form factor that came before them obsolete. However, I do think that folding phones, like the Galaxy Z Fold, can become their own type of “thing”, but only if manufacturers get certain things right. If manufacturers are going to have any future success in occupying a substantial portion of the market with folding phones, it’s going to have to be in the midrange category. In this video I elaborate why. #Samsung #ZFlip3 Specs and pricing for the phones mentioned in the video: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3: bit.ly/3ETFCt3 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: bit.ly/3EWupYB Samsung Galaxy S21+ bit.ly/3zJ308H ____________________________________________________ Music: - Hold on a Second by John Deley and the 41 Players - Spy vs Spy by DJ Williams - Six Seasons by Unicorn Heads - Hannon by Jeremy Black - Ether by Text Me Records / Bobby Renz - Cumbia City by An Jone - One Time by Jeremy Black - Cutting It Close by DJ Freedem
