One of the great things about this memory training book is that he gives a history of memory training. Many memory training books tell the story of Simonedes who is known as the father of memory training and introduced the Mind Palace method in 477 BC. But most stop with the history there. Gregor von Feinaigle gives this history of memory training since then up to this book when it was published in 1813. It is fascinating to read about the art of memory as it developed over the years and read about memory experts in the 1200s, 1300s and so on. In the first chapter of this book he does talk about the Mind Palace or the Memory Palace method and teaches it. Which is pretty standard and no surprise. But he did have a different twist on it in 2 ways: 1. He suggested you imagine a letter M on each wall and visualize the data on that M in various spots. Personally I did not like this method, I think using actual objects around a home produces much stronger images. 2. He also suggests that you imagine the items in your Mind Palace not only interact with the wall but they interact with each other. I do like this memory training tip and I fully agree that it makes the images stronger in your memory I only reviewed the first chapter or so of this book because it is a BIG memory book. I will do more chapters later. I hope you are enjoying the reviews of the old memory training books
