Description: In a crosswind averaging about 17 knots at right angles to the runway, this Monarch Airbus A320 on a scheduled passenger flight was hit by a strong gust at the wrong moment, so the pilot aborted the landing after touching down and did a "go around" to land successfully a while later. This video shows the whole sequence. The go around is the standard and safe procedure if things aren't quite right on or before landing. People sometimes refer to an unscheduled go around without touching down as an aborted landing, but that should really be called a missed approach.
