I really enjoy sharing my exploring and travel adventures with you, reading your comments and having a conversation with you! Today, I want to show you another of my urban exploring adventures. It concerns a rather spooky trip I made to Germany, to an airport that has been fully abandoned more than 25 years ago. Some of the locals say it is a haunted place. But I don't believe in ghosts and other supernatural phenomena. So ghosts should not be one of my problems:-) To me, urban exploring is the studying and documenting of abandoned places. All over Europe, thousands of abandoned buildings are slowly but surely decaying. Many of the historical and cultural treasures of these places have been destroyed or rotten away. Urban decline is a major issue in many European countries. My mission as an urban explorer is to study, and document these places before they are gone for ever. Too many abandoned buildings have been vandalized, looted and trashed. Too many people have hurt themselves while entering abandoned buildings. Therefore in addition, I want to spread the message of safe, ethical and legal urban exploring.
