Dr. Daniels speaks to us on his transition from a communication executive at Ameren Corp., a Fortune 500 company, based in St. Louis, Missouri, to a CEO Action for Racial Equity fellow. Dr. Daniels was hand selected from his company to participate in the fellowship. In addition to a successful career in industry, Dr. Daniels has worked in marketing and communications at several institutions of higher education. Although he is now an active equity fellow, this is not Dr. Daniels first time having strong interests in equity and opportunities for those in Black and Brown communities. While as a young man, Dr. Daniels shares how he had challenges finding his purpose and direction while making some improper choices along the way. Eventually, he did find an interest in working with his local NAACP, where he quickly became active and initiated work with galvanizing and informing his community. During the podcast, Dr. Daniels shares his insights on racial equity research (studying/analyzing data and trends) in four areas (education, public safety, healthcare and economic opportunity) to promote and support public policies and corporate engagement strategies. With such a diverse focus on equity, the fellowship has renewed his commitment and is allowing Dr. Daniels to dig back in his roots and develop a plan to integrate new avenues of integration. Dr. Bryan Daniels earned his B.A. from the University of North Florida in Communication Studies; M.A.s from Webster University in Business Administration and Management and Communication and Media Communications; and a Ph.D. from Regent University in Organizational Studies. Dr. Daniels is looking forward to continuing learning and advocating via the fellowship and returning back to his executive business to deepen the equity work in his corporation.
