Description: In this video I experiment waxing plain unwaxed canvas. Why not buy waxed canvas you ask? Suppliers in my area either do not have it or charge a small fortune for it. Having the ability to wax just the amount you need is a very economical way to use material and the "Plain Canvas" is much cheaper to buy. I use the rest of the plain canvas for other projects. The waxed canvas is much stiffer than un waxed canvas. The waxing adds to the canvas's durability and waterproofing. To make the wax, mix 2 parts Paraffin to 1 part Bee's wax. You cannot use the wax by itself I am told as it makes the article sticky, hence the reason Paraffin is mixed with it. The same process is used to make candles. A made the Dopp bag with the waxed canvas. I will editing release the making of the bags as a project video if people are interested. My old Pfaff 230 sewing machine is performing great and I know it looks beat up (because it is). It was someones broken garbage and I repaired it. There is another video to make it look new again I suppose. Special thanks to my Patreon Supporters for helping me produce these videos! I hope that this video is useful to you and thank you for watching! Regards Scott
