Description: This DIY Staircase Railing project was probably the most challenging piece of finish carpentry work that I've tried on this ICF build. After a few attempts at building custom box newels, I finally was able to get the rustic look and color I had envisioned. Drilling holes in the oak angled staircase railing was difficult using a 3/4 inch spade bit I kept at it.
