To make this DIY Headboard start with the IKEA Bedframe listed above, or your current wooden headboard.Go to home depot and buy supplies listed above. The staff can make the cuts to the plywood for you, and its FREE!! Once you have your bed frame put together begin by nailing the sheet of plywood to the bed frame. Once secure you can begin nailing the slats to the plywood sheet. Work from the bottom up. For this headboard I nailed one slat on the left side and then nailed one to the right as I went up. Because the plywood is so thin nailing the slats on should be easy! Thats all you have to do to make this headboard. Its really simple, and you can choose to stain it any color you like! I think it turned out looking like a really expensive one from West Elm!
