Natural Vanilla Infusion Oil (bit.ly/2qii2PF) 4 Tablespoons of non-nano Zinc oxide I love this one from the company “Raise the Well” bit.ly/2oWMO2Z 4 Tablespoons of hot chamomile tea (go.magik.ly/ml/4ovz/) a container (bit.ly/1N4g8b5) a dark container would be best, but clear could work too. Also, I have chosen not to use an emulsifying wax (bit.ly/2oKL9tG) in this recipe because it is yet another step, however, if you are not going to be able to keep your sunscreen in the fridge, you may be better off using an emulsifier, which basically keeps the water and oil component from separating. Here's how to incorporate it: Pour your tea into a small bowl and gently heat over a pan of boiling water (aka a double boiler!) Add 1 tsp of emulsifying wax Stir until it dissolves Now add this to your melted waxes and oils, adding slowly and whisking as you go. Directions Bring 8oz. of water to a boil and pour over the tea bag, allow to steep for 5-10 minutes. Cover so it stays hot. Melt your shea butter, sweet almond oil, sesame oil and soy wax (or beeswax) in a double boiler, whisking for consistency. Once melted, remove double boiler from heat and pour tea slowly (very slowly) into your melted base, whisking constantly. *If you are using the emulsifying wax, you will add 1 teaspoon into the 4 Tablespoons of tea BEFORE stirring it in to the oils/waxes.* Add your Vitamin E oil and lavender essential oil, whisk Add your non-nano zinc oxide and whisk Add the vanilla oil and whisk. Pour your sunscreen into a container, and let it sit for 2-3 hours, then it’s ready to use. Store in the fridge to prevent any possible separation, or keep out at room temperature if you did use an emulsifier. Pro tip from Sophie: Use something other than your finger to scoop it out to keep the sunscreen free of bacteria. And remember to reapply every 2 hours!!
