Description: DIY Air Heater! Hot Air Furnace! Very easy to make! Made with 8 red bricks, one 6" black stove-pipe tee, one tuna can and a small fan! (AC or DC powered). if using a 12v DC powered fan (on a 12v battery or 12v solar panel) then no 'grid power' is needed! (it runs on isopropyl alcohol). the bricks and stove pipe tee are from home depot. the tuna can, isopropyl alcohol and the round fan are from walmart and the square fan is from amazon (low speed model). this unit produces a serious amount of heat *which you can feel as a hot breeze up to 10 feet from the unit! works great! input air temp. during filming (68F/20C). output temps 220-225F (105-107C). fills a good size area with very warm air very fast. to use it... just put either 70% or 91% isopropyl alcohol in the tuna can and light it. then drop stove pipe tee into place and turn on the fan. burns a long time before the flame goes out. note: one fast and easy way to put it out is with a metal spatula (just set it on top of the tuna can). a couple of notes: only set up the unit on a very solid surface. total weight of unit is 45 to 50 pounds i used it on both a table and a sturdy working platform. don't set it up on the floor or near anything flammable. always use caution around flames. this design is loosely based on my two 'stack boot' air heaters (two of my previous videos). Update: (01/31/2022) just posted a bio-fuel version of this. if interested in seeing this burning bio-ethanol with temp reading and more... here's the link youtu.be/jBjZz2OoKtA
