Description: Helmholtz coils are a common tool for testing with magnetic fields due to their capability to generate an even magnetic field. Comprised of two rings of the same size, wrapped with the same amount of magnetic wire around each, and placed the radius width of the rings apart, Helmholtz coils generate an even sphere of the magnetic field between the two coils when the coils are driven with a constant current source. This project attempts to make that magnetic field “visible" by placing a mini set of Helmholtz coils in a snow globe with ferrite shavings: bit.ly/3cpFrsi Engage with the element14 presents team on the element14 Community - suggest builds, find project files and behind the scenes video: bit.ly/2MFMG0v Visit the element14 Community for more great activities and free hardware: Tech spotlights: bit.ly/2KLz0TS Roadtest and Reviews: bit.ly/2KH4fj3 Project14: bit.ly/2wPnajx #0:00 Welcome to element14 presents #0:28 Project Overview #1:08 The Parts #4:44 Coils #7:32 Circuit #9:24 Assembly #19:00 Final Test! #21:15 Give your Feedback #Helmholtz #MagneticField #Electronics
