DEEP BROWN Inspired by the house and techno played in clubs during his upbringing in Kolkata — Deep Brown, AKA Ankur Kedia, has been on the DJ circuit since he was just 16. The emerging electronic scene on Indian dancefloors has had a profound effect on Kedia, who now frequently delights crowds with a mix of house, funk, disco to the more trippy and beat-driven acid/cosmic techno. Having headed up in-demand slots at festivals such as Magnetic Fields and Goat, Kedia has shared a stage with UK greats Four Tet, Ben UFO, Leon Vynehall and Tom Trago.When not on the decks, Kedia runs Bleep — an artist management and touring agency working hard to push electronic music culture within India, bringing the likes of Kevin Saunderson, Horse Meat Disco, Sebastian Mullaert and Wata Igarashi to the country.
