Description: Colossus was a massive wooden racing roller coaster that operated at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, USA from 1978 to 2014, when it was closed and converted into a new hybrid coaster called Twisted Colossus. It was designed by International Amusement Devices and built by D H Morgan. The coaster had a maximum speed of 62mph and had been reprofiled several times since it first opened. This video features POVs from both left and right tracks (sadly they were not racing it on our visit in 2002) plus some mixed footage including reverse POV on the right track. I enjoyed the newer hybrid version when I visited more recently but still enjoyed this massive wooden coaster as it was.
