Description: Cody Rhodes quits AEW to join WWE. Cody Rhodes officially left AEW and is most likely joining WWE. What a timeline we live in. Yes, you’ve read that title correctly. Cody Rhodes has officially left AEW after releasing a statement on his Twitter account that is now AEW’s community outreach account as well? I still don’t know why he deactivated his account just to give it to AEW. If I was him though, I’d take it back because it is his account and the @ is still under his name. Anyways, in his statement, he went onto thank a bunch of people including Tony Khan, Brandi, the original Elite, the WarnerBros executives, and a bunch of wrestlers that he trained over the course of his time on AEW. Since then, Dave Meltzer has been able to provide some more details on the situation that gives some clear indication on what actually happened. He tweeted this: “The Cody/Brandi split with AEW happened yesterday. The two sides didn't come to terms on a new deal after six weeks. There is a lot more to read into this and our show last night we talked about the different issues. But he could legally be on WWE TV at any time.” Interestingly enough, he also replied to a comment asking if Tony Khan should have appropriated the money into re-signing Cody Rhodes rather than signing the new talent. Metlzer replied with this: “It is a sign they are sticking to a budget which was clear in other negotiations.” It seems like Cody and Tony Khan couldn’t agree on the amount of money he deserved for a new contract. Rhodes was probably asking for more than what Khan could offer because of all the money he’s been spending. AEW has been in the negative for quite some time now and they’ve signed so many wrestlers since then, which means they must be losing more money. That seems to be a big mistake in my opinion. Cody Rhodes isn’t somebody that you lose to the competitors, especially for AEW. The man has been a key piece to the company’s success. All Elite Wrestling needed Cody Rhodes a lot more than they think. He was easily one of their biggest stars despite them not really booking him like one. He cut some of the best promos. He scouted indie wrestlers and then trained them before making their debut to the company. He did a lot of media work for AEW. He was expanding the value of his name outside of wrestling, so there would be more eyes on the brand. And don’t forget about Brandi Rhodes, who was apart of the marketing team. As you can see, Cody and Brandi were a very important part of the AEW. Unlike the other signings, he was an all-around guy outworking everyone else. To let him go seems very bizarre. However, according to Dave’s reply to that other tweet, it seems like AEW is really sticking to their budget to avoid losing more money. But even then, Tony Khan should have made sure to make Cody Rhodes one of his top priorities. With this breaking news, what does that mean for Cody Rhodes. What’s next for his career? Well, a report broke out that stated WWE is already interested in bringing him back. WWE has been aware of this for the last few days and have been in contact with Cody Rhodes. If AEW couldn’t meet the amount he wanted from his next contract, I’m sure WWE will be able to because they did make a billion dollars in the last year. Adrian Zarian has confirmed that Cody Rhodes’ camp has been in contact with WWE officials. Sean Ross Sapp then reported that WWE knew about this and was even aware of when the statement would be released this morning. All signs point to Cody Rhodes signing a contract with AEW. This would make him the first AEW wrestler to leave and join WWE. I really think it’s going to happen. It’s going to be very interesting to see how Vince McMahon books him. If I’m them and I just got Cody Rhodes, I would treat him as the star that he is. Rhodes is in the prime of his career right now. WWE has the opportunity to make him a main event player. He’s gotta win the world championship. It’s also important to show other AEW wrestlers that WWE wants that they can be successful in WWE despite AEW making it seem like it’s career suicide. This means that people like Wardlow, MJF and Jade would want to sign with them when their contracts are up. This Cody Rhodes story is so big and I can’t wait to see it unfold. It is definitely the beginning of a huge change we should see between both companies moving forward. For the first time in a long time, I even want to make a WHAT IF video on Cody Rhodes returning to WWE. This is exciting stuff. As I was finishing this video, I just saw a tweet from WrestleVotes who is very credible stating that a source he knows says they fully anticipate Cody signing with WWE. Things are about to get very interesting. #WWE #AEW #CodyRhodes Can we REACH 5000 likes? ►Help Me Reach 300K Subscribers - goo.gl/e0xMwh ►My Twitter - twitter.com/valonpllana ►My Instagram - instagram.com/valon.pllana
