I had the idea of using the hold down points in my CNC wasteboard as suction points for a downdraft table. I knew it wouldn't collect all the mess, but I was hoping it would take care of the fine dust; which it does. I made it out of MDF, which I hate, but since this was experimental I didn't want to waste a bunch of Baltic Birch plywood. The X-Carve is set on riser blocks which create chambers for the dust to go into. The chambers are connected to the tunnel at the back of the box which is where I hook my dust collector hose up to. It works! I have 4 massive drawers for storing router bits, my clamps for holding work down, dunnage for propping up pieces and an entire drawer of CNC related parts. The far right drawer was notched out so I could mount my emergency stop button at the front right corner for easy access. The paint is Rustoleum Chalk Paint which does an amazing job of covering MDF.
