Description: Directors Note: Hey everyone. Matias De Rada here. This was such a unique story that I was able to tell during my time in Egypt. For many years, the artistic culture has not been able to get much recognition resulting in most artists working in silence. This story is a look into how a group of musicians are innovating within a genre of music called "Mahraganat" which originated in underprivileged neighborhoods of Cairo, but is now getting the attention of the entire country. This film is dedicated to any creative out there who intends on carving out their own path no matter the circumstances and who at the same time looks to utilize their skills to push out positivity and optimism. I hope this film inspires you all to see any challenge in the field you are interested in as an opportunity to grow fond of the process knowing that as long as we don’t attach ourselves to the outcome, we will end up enduring much of the hardships that cause many people to give up.
