Description: Finishing the roof. The video is a slow starter, to show how i make the individual components. And then speeds up, so i don't keep repeating too much. Some of the sequences in the end, ended up going a little faster than what i think is good, Specially the timelapses, i slowed them down a bit, but i should have set it up to take photos more often than one per 5 seconds. Roof Options: Birch bark The birch bark we have in Denmark is too thin and fragile. Shingles Would look awesome, but would take months, and i have other and more exiting projects. The last two episodes has taken very long. Hope to make videos more often than once a month. Just moss The roof would have to have an angle of at least 70 degrees. And a minimum thickness of one foot (according to Mors Kochanski). It would keep a rainfall out. But it would be dripping inside for the next week or so. And where i live we seldom have a week without rain, so it would be dripping constantly. I want it to be dry inside. Some of you might be concerned about all the moss that i pick. This is not Iceland, we have so much moss here, and it grows fast. It is one of the largest struggles for garden owners, keeping it on a minimum on their lawns. So it became plastic. The shelter consisted of wood, and wood only. So it hurt laying the tarps. I am satisfied with the look after the moss cover. Weather Last spring we had a drought that almost prevented a fire curfew, which is very seldom here. Can only remember once (Summer 2018) The fall became the wettest ever measured (we began making weather statistics in 1850) The wet fall made it the wettest year ever. January became the second wettest ever. Where i live (in the middle of Jutland) we get a lot more rain than the national average. Februar became the wettest ever. And the warmest (5,0 °C) Almost didn't see the sun. Normally we have around 60 hours of sunshine in february, it measures the same amount of good stuff from the sun, as we get in one day in july. We had snow for half an hour this winter. Grey in grey, wind and flood was the theme. I have spend alot of days sitting and waiting for just a few hours where it didn't rain, so i could film the build. My camera gear cannot tolerate water. March, so far, looks good. :) The sun i back and its like being born again. I feel amazing. Speak I recorded a sequence where i talked about my choices, But i tumbled with the words, and looked like shit after a hard days work, so i dropped it. My plan is to say a few words once in a while in the videos, and not only to myself as i do now, so it was ok to get some practice any way. My Dog: My dog is a labradoodle. She is half brown labrador and half black/white toy puddle. Her name is Effie, but i only call her that, when she doesn't want to listen. Else i call her Musen (the mouse). She is almost 5 years old.
