Today we're going to be looking at tiktok which we haven't done in a while! Previously we've looked at anything from creepy tik tok povs to fake property brothers and how tik tok has made being not like other girls trendy again but I thought we could look at something a bit different happening over on the app- brands. In the past few years brands have been everywhere online and it's no surprise that they'd all flock to tik tok once the app became popular but what's really interesting is the way brands are acting on there versus any other platform. the closest comparison would be to the trend of brands on twitter trying to join in on memes and jokes but I think brands on tik tok are taking it a step further, they don't want to just be funny, they want to be quirky and relatable which... seems impossible considering they aren't a person... they're a brand lol. That hasn't stopped a lot of brands from trying though so I thought we could check out some bad examples as well as some brands who have actually somehow pulled it off like duo lingo's tiktok account. I also thought this would just be a good opportunity to talk about how brands try to insert themselves into the conversation on social media in general to promote themselves, specifically on not just tik tok but also twitter and how... awkward some of the attempts have been. i also have a tiny conspiracy that the rise of fake influencers on tik tok might mean that we'll be seeing fake influencers hired by brands as spokespersons for their products in the future. very black mirror and probably wont happen for a while tbh but i thought it'd be interesting to share and hear what you guys thought about it lol. like i mentioned in the video i think everyone's opinions on brands and how they act online vary quite a bit so definitely share how you feel about them and whether there are things they do/don't do that make you more receptive to them online in the comment section! hope you guys enjoy the video and I'll see ya THERRREEEE :) also if you wanna support the channel you can subscribe and like the video, it really helps me out! you can also turn the post notifications on to be notified everytime I upload but otherwise thanks again for watching :)) // Socials~*~*~* ☞ Follow Me!
