Description: A compilation of moments recorded the past few days of early access for Battlefield 2042. Included you'll see funny moments, bugs, glitches in the game. 12:51 Portal Gameplay 17:27 More Hovercraft Shenanigans A few thoughts I have on the game so far but before I get to that I wanted to say if you have any doubts on whether or not you'll like the current version of the game or be able to create your own fun or enjoyment within it don't buy it. I believe you can trial it for 10 hours with EA Play and if you're not in a rush just wait for a sale because by the time one comes around there should be more fixes and changes in the game. This early access version and launch version of the game is basically what I expected or mentioned expecting in previous video descriptions. It's a bit of a mess in some areas and like any Battlefield launch it has bugs and issues that require real world conditions and players to fully realize. I would like to see the Specialists go away and have more natural Battlefield classes but I can see that a lot of the core game design is based around Specialists and I'm not sure you can remove them easily or without a lot of developer time and resources. I would pay money to be able to skip a lot of the loading screens or at least mute the Specialist voice overs in all of those scenes before and after rounds. Forced TAA or the anti aliasing in the game can be painful to the eyes and over extended time gives me headaches/migraines so I do really wish there was a way to turn it off officially in the game. With BFV I could alleviate some of the eye strain TAA gives by bumping up the render resolution of the game but with BF2042 there isn't enough fps or performance to spare for that. The Portal is a bit of disappointment. I knew the previous Battlefield games included in it wouldn't "feel" like they did originally because they weren't being played on the original versions of the Frostbite engines they were developed on but I did not realize how badly that would affect them or how lazy they'd go about it. A lot of the assets seem to come from more recent Battlefield games and the rest is either from BF4 or BF2042. For example the BC2 AT4 wire guided rocket launcher in the game feels like the final nerfed form of the SRAW from BF4 and the Gol Magnum weapon model used looks to be the one from BF4's DLC. Hit registration for the game feels like it got worse with the server side patch they released that caused them to remove the proximity sensor for a few days and the fix for that doesn't appear to have fixed the hit registration. I've been almost exclusively using two weapon the past few days so that kind of change or inconsistency feels more noticeable. I wonder what the tickrate is these days for both client and server as well as any new changes made to sync these two as some things feel like they were given tighter limits where information or packets are dropped more often with no real notification. I know BF4's CTE "optimization" or bubble is still being used but it seems like it's gotten worse. Try using a TOW missile at range to see how bad it can be. Spectator mode being missing I saw coming from miles away. Like BF4's server side water it's a server side resource or something that takes quite a bit of bandwidth and server-client processing. You can't increase the player count that high without sacrificing other features. As the teleporting player models have indicated the software and hardware isn't advanced enough or haven't made any new breakthroughs needed for all the features you'd like to see in a Battlefield game. I swear there is something wrong with hit boxes and crouch or crouch strafing players. Please keep in mind I haven't done any real testing related to it in a closed environment so other factors could be associated with all the clips I have of shots not registering on crouched players. Not having ALL chat is a weird decision that I'd like to hear more about or what the actual reasoning was for it. If it was actually something related to toxicity I'd like to ask why they haven't removed crouching from the game as t-bagging is on the same level of toxic behavior you can find in chat especially when people will still be toxic in team chat if they are losing or dying a lot. The game appears to be a fully Dx12 game meaning no Dx11 at all which also means no real exclusive fullscreen mode, just something to note. Gun play it looks like there were some incomplete changes made so I'm waiting for a few patches regarding that subject before forming any final opinion on it.
