Description: I dissect a lithium battery and harvest its lithium metal to see what happens when I drop it in a glass of water. lithium reacts violently with water as the lithium oxidizes and rips the oxygen molecules out of the water (H2O) and leaves the hydrogen behind ready to ignite from the heat of the reaction and burst into flames. I was actually pretty surprised with what it did to my glass.
