The Back 4 Blood story takes place after a catastrophic outbreak where most of humanity has either been killed or infected by the parasitic Devil Worm. Early Access beta is Aug 5-9 This is how to get in: twitter.com/back4blood/status/1422286204557398040 Open Beta access begins next week Aug 12-16 ABOUT THE BACK 4 BLOOD OPEN BETA: The Open Beta will feature the following content: Two maps for the all-new "Swarm" player-versus-player (PvP) mode where two squads of four face off in a best-of-three series of rounds swapping between playing as the Cleaners and the Ridden. Two co-op PvE maps to fight off Ridden with your friends. Play as Mom for the first time, along with Evangelo, Holly, Walker, and Hoffman. Variety of weapons to check out, cards to build decks and Ridden to slay. Ability to explore Fort Hope. Stuff I forgot to say in the video: The infected and survivors in Back 4 Blood are referred to as "Ridden", and "Cleaners" respectively. The versus mode in Back 4 Blood is called "Swarm" The way you win in PVP is to be the team that survives for the longest amount of time each round. The infected can respawn forever so eventually the survivors will die, and switch sides to infected. Example: if you're on the survivor team and you survived for 4 minutes and zero seconds exactly, the infected team must survive for 4 minutes and 1 second to win, when it becomes their turn to be survivors. It's 3 rounds, best 2 out of 3 takes the gold. The team I linked up with was cracked, and we didn't lose a game. Team 28 is best team. Teamwork and communication is imperative if you want a better chance of winning the rounds. When it gets chaotic...you won't always notice your friend is getting grabbed by an infected player unless they say so, and when it comes to cards or finding ways to survive... it's good to have a balanced team. Have your main shooter, and have someone that heals people all the time. It's similar to picking classes with good synergies while in a Battleifeld squad. Same deal if you're on the ridden team. The infected have to strategize aswell if they want to take down the survivors because no one can do it alone. It's about as team oriented as games like Rainbow Six Siege, or Battlefield, and of course, L4D... so if you have a crew you like to win with, this game could be for you. There are multiple waves, where a battle royale type circle will get smaller and smaller after each wave, making it much harder to survive, and creates tense fights which are a lot of fun. This also stops survivors from cheesing or camping too much in a hard to reach spot. This was an issue in Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, and still is to this day... In the old days of Left 4 Dead, people could troll the infected team by simply never starting the finale. This means the horde that the escape triggers, will never arrive... and the infected players have no way to beat the survivors before getting gunned down. AFAIK, people still do this in 2021 from what I've played. Not an issue at all in Back 4 Bloods PVP. I didn't see one toxic player take advantage of anything exploitive. It's a very solid PVP in general and lots of fun to play.
