I was coming out of a long-term relationship, had to move back in with my parents, and COVID had just begun. The idea for the song came to me after a video conversation with a close friend, because when we hung up, I was overcome by an overwhelming feeling of being alone. I felt completely alone and helpless, with no prospect of change, in the confining space of the garage of my parents.
