Description: Researchers with the University of California, Berkeley, have discovered traces of a very powerful hallucinogenic potion in a leather bundle from 1000 years ago. They found the bundle buried in a cave in the Bolivian Andes. The pouch itself was made from fox snouts sewn together, with chemical analysis showing that there had been at least five psychoactive substances inside the pouch when it was abandoned in the cave. These substances include DMT and harmine, both key ingredients in the mind-altering substance known as ayahuasca. #funfacts #history #ancientcivilizations #ancient #ancienthistory #historyfacts #mysteriousdiscoveries #recentdiscoveries #archaeologicaldiscoveries #peru #bolivia
