The flam is one of the most useful we have right next to single strokes, double strokes, and paradiddles. The drum rudiments are a language. Once you learn them, they open up completely new opportunities in your playing. But far too often I see drummer's half learning their rudiments. Never taking that step to apply them to the drum-set. This lesson is taken from a public livestream I did in April of 2022. In it, I show you a very practical and methodical way to break out the flam so that you can use it in new and creative ways. The really great thing...the method I teach in the lesson works with ANY rudiment or sticking. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
