Description: Hey guys welcome to the new series in which we are gonna go over how various motorcycle sub-brands evolved. In this episode its time for some Apache History. So let's get started! Here is the brief story: TVS is the forefront in bringing track focused bikes in India and the undisputed King in track racing. The Apache series is highly popular here in India and when it comes in buying a track bike, Apache is one of the first choices for riders. After seeing a growing interest and enthusiasm for sport segment in India. TVS engineers started working on a motorcycle that will compete with the champions of 150cc category: The Pulsar 150 and Hero Honda CBZ. In 2005, The Apache E-Surge 150 was launched. Apache 150 was evolved from Suzuki Fiero which TVS used to manufacture. Two years later in 2007, TVS launched Apache RTR 160, where “RTR” stands for “Racing Throttle Response”. A Year later in 2008, A new version of Apache was launched by TVS named Apache RTR-Fi 160. TVS also provided a Race Performance Kit for RTR-Fi 160 and RTR 160 owners which included free flow exhaust and other improvements in valves, spark plugs and in cylinder which increased the power output to a whopping 18.5Bhp. Just one year later in 2009, TVS unveiled the new Apache RTR 180. The RTR 180 was a direct assault to industry’s long term leader Pulsar 180. In late 2010, TVS launched the upgraded version of RTR 160 named Hyper Edge. It was a cosmetic makeover rather than mechanical. In Year 2011, TVS introduced the ABS version of Apache RTR 180. The new Apache became the first Indian motorcycle to feature lifesaving ABS technology. In 2012, The facelift version of Apache RTR 180 was launched with a tagline Scarily Fast. Later the Apache RTR 160 was also given the same facelift as of Apache RTR 180. In year 2014 and 2015, TVS launches two new paint schemes to their Apache lineup to give a fresh new look namely: Matte Black Edition and Matte Blue Edition. Moving forward to 2016, The new Draken concept based flagship model Apache RTR 200 4V was launched. Now in 2017, TVS updated the Apache series with BS-IV complaint engine and AHO feature. TVS also introduced the new Matte Red paint scheme to its Apache series for the festive season. TVS has come a long way in a fast developing performance motorcycle segment in India. Apache changed the perception that a motorcycle is not only meant to commute from one place to another but instead can be a thrilling experience when comes to riding in a race track and after a decade of conquering the tracks, TVS will continue to revolutionize its Apache brand. And that’s how a brand Apache evolved over the course of time. If you liked this video, do make sure to hit that like button and subscribe to my channel for more motorcycle content.
