Billy McLaughlin's use of altered tunings, taping, and legato created a unique sound for the acoustic guitar. His attention to melody also makes his sound instantly identifiable. He has been a huge influence on Andy McKee both musically and personally. Billy had to relearn the acoustic guitar and learn how to play left-handed in his battle with focal dystonia which took a remarkable amount of courage and dedication.
