Partly funk, partly hippie, partly disco and partly eastern tunes - this is a classic from its era ! When Ananda Shankar came up with his distinct type of flavor, it was called 'music of no name' as at that time there existed no category to put his music into. It then evolved further which we today know as 'World Music'. Establishing himself amidst the Hippie culture with Sitar being the lead instrument, he was the real pioneer of Indipop scene also. His popularity shot up that high that even Jimmy Hendrix was willing to team up with him (but the deal never materialized as because of the sudden demise of the legend).
