Description: I know that the speakers in this video don't represent everyone. Not even the average working American maybe, In 1994 Fidelity Investments hired my team to ask Americans about investing their money. The idea for the film was to combine people's thoughts and opinions and questions with fidelity investments experts, especially Peter Lynch, advising people. They talked about savings, about retirement, about taking risks or not taking risks, about their 401(k), about things that it happened in the 1980s, about getting older, about money they had lost in one. I was never much on the market and when I entered the stock market or bond market or any market that involves investing, I lost more than I made. And I never felt that I had any control over what was happening and even worse, it made no sense why things went up and down. Yet these financial experts, these great advisors, seem to know something I don't understand because they got successes more than failures (I think). What I found during this filming was that many people were living beyond their means and while they were comfortable with it, they were not particularly afraid. As I see things today, many people are living beyond their means, maybe even more than were back in 1994, and then not comfortable at all with it. Being in debt to the credit card companies etc. doesn't feel good and the outcomes very often are not good.
