Description: This should always be first thing you check when dealing with this issue. The Honda Pilot (along with a few other Honda models) use a separate Power wire on your battery terminal to power the Modules for these systems. It takes very little corrosion to stop the connection and sometimes nothing is even visibly wrong. This will prevent the ABS module from communicating with the ECM or a scan tool, and cause the ABS light, the VTM-4 light, and in most cases the brake light to activate as well. When the VTM-4 light is present you will not be able to use the Honda's "awd" system either. If your problem also ends up being the terminal connector, once it is cleaned and re attached the systems should reset themselves, you will need to drive the vehicle to reset the ABS light though. Should take less then a mile. I hope this helps!
