Description: In Todays video Abandoned Massive Florida Ghost Resort Haunted By Demons Caught On Camera We explore the largest abandoned resort in Florida known as Harder Hall. HIstory Harder Hall, one of Florida's most haunted abandoned hotels. Named after its developers, Lewis and Vincent Hall. Prior to the Wall Street Crash of 1929, Florida experienced a boom in real estate and tourism. It was during this period that many Spanish-style hotels, such as Harder Hall, were built. Construction of the hotel began in 1925, prior to the end of the Florida land boom of the 1920s it was built in Sebring because the city was a stop on the Atlantic Coast Line railroad, a prime location for tourists. For decades Harder Hall has been passed down to many owners, the last owner going bankrupt and unable to maintain the building. It was bought in 1953 by Victor and David Jacobson and their two partners name Larry and Sam. In 1954 Victor commissioned golf course architect Dick Wilson to transform the golf course into a championship layout. Major tournaments were held at Harder Hall Hotel like the PGA Tour Tour event. You also had the likes of famous guests of the hotel, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Ali MacGraw, and Mario Andretti. The first golf school was also operated at Harder Hall Golf between 1967 and at least 1982. This place is known by locals as one of the most haunted buildings in Highlands County. Urban legend says that every owner of the hotel has died under "strange circumstances," often within the limits of the property. Ghost stories such as workers being confronted by the Spooner sisters, New York residents who wintered there annually and had died several years earlier. Or reports from workers seeing an apparition of an elderly man, 5-foot-8-inches tall with slicked-back white hair and wearing a sky-blue leisure suit, walking around the hallways, always slumped over. A description that fits the former CEO of the resort, Frank Lynford. The hotel was last operated until 1982 when Victor sold it to a group of investors. The group ended up going bankrupt, unable to convert their plan to convert the structure to timeshares. The building has been unoccupied ever since. Several times different groups tried their luck on the extensive renovation project but never got far. A few times this classic building barely escaped demolition, before being put on the National Register of Historic Places.
