Description: The newest addition to my collection of G-scale model trains is this very unusual custom-built Oscar Mayer Wiener train. This makes 25 locomotives in my collection of large scale model trains. While this video won't win any awards, I think it's a real wiener! I didn't make this Oscar Mayer Wiener locomotive... someone else did, using what I think was an Oscar Mayer coin bank mounted on top of a motorized rail car chassis. My friend, Bob Kaplan, bought it from someone on eBay... and Bob knew it would be an interesting subject for a YouTube video, so he re-sold the train to me. I put together a small track layout in my living room in order to shoot this video of the Oscar Mayer Wiener train in action. You're seeing it go at top speed... it's the slowest locomotive in my entire collection... and I ran the other trains at much less than their usual speed so that none of the trains were going hugely faster than the Wiener train. The other trains that are running on the layout are the Santa Fe Super Chief, the White Pass passenger train led by a diesel locomotive, and a ATSF steam train that I refer to as "the Valvoline train" because one of my relatives got it for free in a promotion for Valvoline motor oil.
