Description: In this video, we look at chlorofluorocarbons and the ozone layer. First we explore the role of the ozone layer and how it protects us from excessive ultraviolet radiation. We then look at chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and how these lead to the destruction of ozone via the formation of chlorine radicals. Finally, we explore how ozone can also be destroyed by nitrogen oxide radicals.
