Description: Surprise Sunday video! Let's learn about winter tires: why you should get them, some features of the MICHELIN X-Ice SNOW tires, and what to expect during your appointment. I got mine installed last month and I've definitely noticed a difference driving in wet & snow conditions. Learn more: bit.ly/3khsSls One thing I didn't mention: most people get new rims with their winter tires. Steel rims are the most affordable (which is what I went with) but hub caps often won't fit on these new rims, so most people opt to go without. It's not the most refined look, but considering how dirty your car can get in the winter due to salt & sand, it's a lot more practical. It's all I notice about cars in the winter now. This video was sponsored by Michelin. All opinions are my own. Big thanks to Peter at Streetstars Customs in London, ON facebook.com/streetstarscustoms ABOUT WINTER TIRES: -Winter tires are made from specific rubber compound that's more flexible in cold weather (and hardens as temperatures approach freezing), providing better grip, traction and braking qualities at lower temperatures -Braking distances can be up to 8x longer on winter roads. If you're driving 50 km/h, that's 8m on dry surfaces, 16m on wet, 32m on dry packed snow & 64m on ice. Driving just isn't the same in the winter. -While all-season tires perform well in a range of conditions, winter tires are specifically designed for the extreme conditions that winter can bring: wet roads, snow, slush & ice. MICHELIN X-ICE SNOW TIRES FEATURES: -a full silica-based compound to maintain flexibility in severe cold climate conditions -a V-shaped tread design for optimal grip performance on snow and ice and for exceptional slush performance -two types of full-depth, interlocking 3-D sipes: for an increased "claw" effect on snow and ice ▶ Follow me on Instagram: instagram.com/gunnarolla Open this section up to learn more ↓ 0:00 - Introduction 0:33 - Why winter tires? 0:46 - Your appointment 2:05 - MICHELIN X-Ice SNOW tires ▶ Use REV to generate closed captions and make your videos more accessible rev.com/blog/coupon/?ref=andrewgunadie ▶ Music by Epidemic Sound goo.gl/rx2xkq ▶ Subscribe for weekly videos - gunnarol.la/subscribe ▶ Watch more travel videos - gunnarol.la/travel ▶ Watch more music videos - gunnarol.la/music ▶ For business inquiries - hello@gunnarolla.com ▶ LET'S CONNECT!
