Description: The Sarajevo - Capljina railway line connects the continental part of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Port of Ploce at the Adriatic Sea. The linking up Sarajevo and Capljina with a railway connection, required digging of 99 tunnels and construction of 65 bridges. Very demanding and complex mountainous terrain at the route required the construction of many tunnels several kilometers long. The Neretva river canyon, in addition to being perhaps the most beautiful area on the route, caused a special way of line tracing. The line had to be raised above the river and high from the bottom of the canyon, which was flooded in many places by building numerous reservoirs along the river. Another very important and well known part of this line is the "Bradina ramp" (Bradina pass). With a few serpentines and numerous tunnels in the curves, a large altitude difference was overcome in a very short distance. The appearance of that part is especially shown at the beginning of the video. Trains overcome altitude difference of 750 meters between Bradina and Capljina (nearly 400m in the short distance from Bradina to Konjic).
